DSCF1762Our Visit to the Mansion House
On Tuesday December 16th some of our 5th class pupils visited the Mansion House and met Andrew Montague, who was the Lord Mayor of Dublin in 2012. This year’s Lord Mayor was not free to meet us but Andrew Montague was very kind and showed us around and answered all our questions.
The Mansion House is a beautiful house built by Joshua Dawson and so the street it is on was called Dawson Street in his honour. It has been home to the lord mayors of Dublin since 1715.
We saw the family crests of all the lord mayors on the walls of the room we were in and some of us saw our own family crests and took photos of them.
We had a great day out and one we will always remember.
