Our class has been doing a project on the weather in Ireland. We studied different types of clouds and what they are made from. We looked at temperature and the various instruments used to measure temperature. We studied the difference between weather and climate. The weather describes the state of the atmosphere above us at any given time. Climate describes the long term variations of the atmosphere. In Ireland, we have a mild, moist and unpredictable! Our Trip to Bubble Science in Tallaght Stadium   Ms. Maye brought some children from 5th class to Tallaght Stadium for Engineers week. We arrived at Tallaght Stadium around 12 o clock.                                          DRY ICE! Last week was science week, Mr Maguire’s class done an experiment with dry ice. Dry ice is some carbon dioxide frozen that you can order online. We were not allowed touch it because you could get frost bite in less than five seconds. We used fairy liquid, gloves, balloons, bottles, cup, water, kettle, plate and pipes. Raspberry Pi Weather Station

Our school is one of only a 1000 schools around the globe who managed to get our hands on a Raspberry Pi Weather Station. This weather station enables the collection of weather data, using a variety of sensors which include a rain gauge, an anemometer, a wind vane and a soil temperature probe. Hour of Code Week December 7th – 11th The hour of code was a great experience for everyone in our class. Over the past week we have really enjoyed having the opportunity to take part in coding activities. This year’s theme was Minecraft. We really set our minds to what we had to do and got really involved. It was very interesting to learn about code.
