On Monday the 18 th of september Mr. Maguire’s 4th class went to Tallaght stadium for Health and well being week. We went on a bus with Ms. Keating ,Ms. Joyce and Mr. Maguire. We also went with Difi. We met a famous hurler called king Henry Shefflin from Kilkenny. We played hurling, hockey, cricket, athletics and zumba. Difi had great fun doing the zumba dance. The athletics teacher we had was the lady who gave the children their medal’s for cross country. A stroke awareness talk took place recently in Sacred Heart JNS hall. On September 18th,  Dr. Ronán Collins, stroke specialist and consultant in Tallaght Hospital, spoke about how stroke is treatable, how lives can improve with better awareness, access and action, and how our stroke care services are improving all the time. Health and Well Being Week 2014

Some 6th class children represented the school today at the launch of ‘Health and Well Being Week’. This week has been organised by South Dublin County Council and during the week there are lots of activities going on to promote both physical and mental wellbeing. The children along with Ms McCarthy and Ms Purcell took part in different sports at the Tallaght Stadium. At school during the week, the children will be taking part in the ‘Busy Breaks’ programme.
