Our Trip to Bubble Science in Tallaght Stadium   Ms. Maye brought some children from 5th class to Tallaght Stadium for Engineers week. We arrived at Tallaght Stadium around 12 o clock. Ms Canavan’s 5th class decided to do the gruffalo play in their Gaeilge lesson. Each pupil got a part in the An Garbhán play. Each pupil decided to group up and pick a part of the play they wanted to do. There was the choices of doing sionnach which is the fox, Ulchabhán which is the owl and there was the nathair which is when the mouse meets the snake. Gingerbread Men

Ms. Canavan’s 5th class took part in the Erasmus Plus Difi program. We were asked to bake with Difi and it was a lots of fun. We baked cookies. There were sleighs, Christmas trees, stars and Christmas stocking biscuits. Difi came along to help. The gingerbread biscuits were YUM! Hour of Code Week December 7th – 11th The hour of code was a great experience for everyone in our class. Over the past week we have really enjoyed having the opportunity to take part in coding activities. This year’s theme was Minecraft. We really set our minds to what we had to do and got really involved. It was very interesting to learn about code. The most important thing we thought was that while we were learning, we were having fun. As part of the activity there were fourteen levels to complete. Our Visit to the Mansion House On Tuesday December 16th some of our 5th class pupils visited the Mansion House and met Andrew Montague, who was the Lord Mayor of Dublin in 2012. This year’s Lord Mayor was not free to meet us but Andrew Montague was very kind and showed us around and answered all our questions. The Mansion House is a beautiful house built by Joshua Dawson and so the street it is on was called Dawson Street in his honour. It has been home to the lord mayors of Dublin since 1715.
