Native American Art

Native Americans still have their own type of artwork to this day. They stitched flowers, leaves and stems onto bags. The women dyed rugs with leaves, berries and insects mushed up to make a strong colour. They gathered up animal blood and dipped their hands in it and they put it on their teepee to help them recognize their home.
They carved tree trunks and formed them in to lovely figures. These were figures called totem poles. They made paint with buffalo blood and insects and painted them bright colours to stand out well. They made dream catchers and many more things.

The Native Americans are very creative and great to study.
